Looking for a photo gallery host |
Looking for a photo gallery host provider, preferably free. Anyone had good/bad experiences to share?
I’ve looked at a few and most companies charge for the service, which would normally be fine, but right now I’ve got no budget for this. The one I’ve found that matches my criteria so far is Yahoo! It’s simple, which is what you’d expect for a free service.
Why am I not doing this myself? Well, I’ve been dilly-dallying on the structure and look for a _long_ while and my wife had pretty much given up on me doing anything this century. So, when I saw a friend’s gallery site on mac.com I realized that my best option was to go with an online service. The mac.com site for photos is really for existing Mac users. If you don’t have a Mac you can still post photos, although the sign-up page seems to indicate that you can only sign-up from a Mac. Can you imagine other service providers doing that? I realize Mac is in the hardware business, but ugh.
Anyhow, I still might build my own but I’d like to start a gallery first and then build my own as I have time.
If you’ve had good or bad experiences with a photo gallery hosting provider please share in the comments.
[Edit]: I’ve just been introduced to Flickr, so that looks like what I’ll use.
